Salsbury Steak

***EASY ALERT!***

This meal was super simple and very delicious.  Paired with store bought mashed potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts, my hubby was a very happy camper!

This recipe is definitely a winner and will be made again and again at our house.  I could drink the gravy from a cup and love how dark and rich it gets.  Try it tonight!

For the meat-
1 lb lean Ground Beef (I used Ground Sirloin)
1/3 C Panko Bread Crumbs
2 t Ketchup
1 t Yellow Mustard
1 t Worcestershire Sauce
1 t Garlic Salt

For the gravy-
1 pkg. Portobello Mushrooms, sliced
1/2 Onion, chopped
1 clove Garlic, minced
2 packets Brown Gravy Mix
2 C Hot Water
1 t Ketchup
1 t Worcestershire Sauce

Combine all meat ingredients in a large bowl and mix with yoru hands until everything is incorporated.  Heat 1 T of oil (I used olive) in a skillet over medium heat.  Form meat into about 1-2 inch meatballs, or hamburger patties (totally a personal preference) and cook until both sides are no longer pink.  Remove from pan.

Swirl around a little bit more oil and add the onion, mushrooms and garlic.  Cook until they are soft and the onions are translucent.  About 10 min.  In a separate bowl whist together the remaining gravy ingredients.  Reduce heat to low, add the meatballs/patties back to the pan and pour in gravy.  Allow to simmer until gravy warms and thickens.  Serve warm over mashed potatoes or pasta.
