Friday night play time!

Everett and Mike were both so excited about the weekend and the fact that Nanny Nomo was coming over for dinner!  E was so excited to see her and Mike and I were so happy to catch up with her Friday night.  We feasted on "Breakfast" burgers (hamburgers with fried eggs and bacon on top) and had lots of good laughs.

Saturday started out with a quick cross training session  followed by a nap for the little guy in preparation for a fun afternoon out with friends.

After naptime we headed to Wildside BBQ Bar and Grille in Thornton Park near downtown Orlando for some funsies with our friends.  We sat outside and watched football and played with dogs.

Barktoberfest was going on in Thornton Park/Lake Eola and Everett’s favorite pooch, Reef, was hanging with us all day.

After lunch, the girls (and E) headed to walk around Lake Eola to check out the puppies that were up for adoption and made a quick stop at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt for a sweet (cold) treat.  E wasn’t too excited as he snoozed in the stroller for much of our walk.

After meeting back up with the guys at the Relax Grille, we all decided to head back to Jenny and Jeremy’s house for the rest of the night.

Homemade pizza, football and bedtime for the little guy were on the agenda.

Bonding before bedtime with Uncle Jason.

E went down without a peep in his Pack ‘n Play and we adults had fun watching football.  Of course with the Gators, Badgers and Crimson Tide all playing at the same time, we had to make sure we had everybody’s teams accounted for (although the Gators were on the big TV).

Such a trooper – goes with the flow and will sleep anywhere (for now!)  Thank goodness!

Sunday we all slept in until 8:15 (yiiipppppeeee!) and then it was a day of running (4 mile training run), napping and playing.  We even made it to my favorite place – Once Upon a Child- and scored some Halloween PJs!

E has discovered his favorite new toy – The Cheesehead.  His daddy is so proud.

We also officially lowered the crib since this crazy man is trying to get up on all fours and has started grabbing onto anything around him…mobility is looming!

Weekend Highlights:

SURPRISE!!!  Friday afternoon, right after work the three of us loaded the car and took off to surprise my mom for her birthday.  Mike and I knew that seeing Everett on her birthday would be the best gift we could give her (she thought she wouldn’t see him for a few weeks) and we wanted it to be a surprise!

Earlier in the week I texted my Aunt Janie to tell her about our plan and she was totally in.  She let Nana know and we were all so excited.

IMG_3260

My mom was out and about for most of the day getting her staples taken out (she had total hip replacement two weeks ago) and then out to dinner for her birthday with my Nana (who was in on the plan).  When they got home around 7:15 we had Everett propped up in a chair so that he would be the first thing she saw.

Well, it worked!  She was SO SURPRISED and he even was making waving movements as she walked in the door (as I was singing Happy Birthday from behind the chair).

Beautiful sunset on a beautiful birthday – Friday the 13th never looked so good!

We spent he night and ended up playing for most of the day Saturday.  Everett loves Gransie’s sink and her dog, Hurley.

We headed back to Orlando around midday and then straight to our friends house to watch some football.  Did I mention I love football season!?!

Everett was a champ again going down in the Pack n Play while we had some adult funsies – I think he likes to be on the go as much as we do!

IMG_3261

Pardon the bed head (me), I was having too much fun playing dress up with E to fix my hair!

We spent all day yesterday out and about after a few naptimes for the little and big guys!  We had a lot on our errand list since we are getting ready for our trip to Wisconsin this week!  Mike is in a wedding this coming weekend (Everett was getting his formal wear ready – see above) and we are so excited for a mini vacay!

After running errands, we ended up at a local bar/restaurant to watch the Packers beat up on the Redskins followed by our weekend grocery trip.

Menu Monday/Tuesday/Almost Wednesday

I guess a Tuesday night post for a Monday blog is better late than never.  Ugh.  Sorry guys – hopefully I will be back on track (with more than one post a week) soon.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!  Back to school + 7 month old = busy!

Weekend Recap:

Although our pre-gaming efforts didn’t really work (gross Gator game), we had a great weekend watching football and hanging with friends!

E got to hang out with his girlfriend, Kennedy and they even had their first “pool” party!  His other buddy Nathanial was also there – they were so cute “playing” together!

There was also a lot of tail grabbing (poor Reef!), backpack riding, and playtime this weekend!

EJA - Month 736

Our weekend culminated with E getting to wear his new Green Bay Packer game day bibs (although this effort didn’t bode well either).

Weekend Recap:

We had another weekend out and about!

Although Mike had to stay home with E on Friday because of a cough/cold/fever trio (not to mention that his fourth tooth is seconds away from breaking through), we headed up to Palatka to see my mom as she was discharged from the hospital a day early (we were all so excited, especially her!).

She had total hip replacement surgery this past Wednesday and we wanted to be there for her first nights at home.

IMG_2529

Everett, despite not feeling great, was a trooper and loved taking a bath in Gransie’s sink.

IMG_2530

We made homemade pizza and watched college football Friday night and all day Saturday – my favorite time of year!

Saturday we were surprised with a visit from my Aunt Peg and Everett got to love all over her (and vice versa).  They were smitten with each other from the start!

IMG_2562IMG_2563

Then it was “pick the onesie” time!  We actually switched off throughout the day and luckily were both happy with our teams’ wins (it’s tough when they play at the same time!).

I still love him in orange and blue the best Winking smile.

IMG_2578

E and Mike spent some of the day out playing with Hurley and checking out the river as we just hung out and watched more football.

IMG_2584

Sunday started out with this gorgeous view of the river with a peanut butter, banana and granola bagel with piping hot coffee.  So good.

Then we got word from our friend Lynn that there would be a BBQ later in the day if we wanted to attend…of course we did!  We packed up and headed for Orlando and went straight to Lynn’s house.

Of course, Everett was excited that his girlfriend Kennedy was there, and we were so happy to chill with our friends.

IMG_2640

Aunt Lynnie even made an infant pool out of a bucket so E could partake in some funsies.  I know he just wishes he could be with the “big kids” playing bocce ball!

IMG_2641IMG_2650

The food, despite the rain was delish and the company even better.  Everett was a champ sleeping in the pack ‘n play and we got to be grown ups for a few hours.  A win-win for all!

IMG_2647

As for today, more cutting teeth, napping and playing around.  Here’s to a great week!
