Weekend Highlights-

Friday night party in the nursery!  Definitely my favorite time of the day – I LOVE pajamas and playtime.

Saturday was full of running, playing, eating and napping by both boys (the usual).

Saturday afternoon we headed over to my friend Lynn’s house (aka Aunt Lynnie) for some out door relaxing, pizza making and wine drinking.  E and Lynn’s dog Reef became best buddies.

The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS and the food was just as good.  After the little dude went to sleep we started with a fruit filled salad with a delicious poppy seed dressing, followed by chicken pesto and Hawaiian pizzas (they were so good I forgot to take a pic – too busy eating!).

Such a fun night of catching up and chatting about wedding funsies (Lynn and Tuller get married in May!).  Mike and I can’t wait!

After our fun night out we had to wake this little man up around 8am (the old 7 am due to DST).  He apparently partied hard.

He ate a big breakfast for a big day…he was going to his first official birthday party.  His #1 lady is turning one this week and he was so excited to celebrate with her!

But first, we had to run.  Luckily the weather was perfect for a morning 8 miler.  Our next race, a 15K (9.3 miles) is next weekend in Jacksonville.  I’m hoping the weather is just as beautiful.

After a quick shower we were off to see the b-day girl!

Kennedy is the daughter of our good friends Jill and Ryan and was born 5 weeks after Everett.  She has been a regular on the blog and it has been so much fun watching them both grow up over the past year.  There is noting like having a friend to go through every stage with.  We can’t wait to see what she and E get into as the years pass.

Kennedy’s party was an adorable navy and pink theme with lots of chevron.  So cute.

Lots of moms and babies including Jenny and 2 week old Carson!

Everett had a BLAST running around.  He didn’t stop and was so tired on the way home!

He even had a few run-ins with the ground.  Definitely a bruiser!

This week we have a few small runs before our race and hopefully a visitor for a few days.  Mike’s buddy, Nick, will be in the Sunshine State for a few days and we can’t wait to hang out!

I am also excited to share some exciting news with you on Thursday – my first official podcast!  I was contacted by the folks at the Lifestyle Accountability Show a few months ago and they asked if I would participate in a podcast to share my health/fitness story.  I taped it about two weeks ago and was so nervous before they called, but had SO MUCH FUN talking to them.  It goes live on Thursday and I can’t wait to share it with you all.  More details to follow!

M:  Shredded Pork Burritos w/ Tomato Rice

T:  Greek Chicken Kebabs w/ Baked Potatoes

W:  Sweet and Sour Pork w/ Fried Rice

Th:  Chicken Noodle Soup

F: Palatka

Sa:  Black Bean Soup

Have a great week!

PS – Happy belated birthday to my dad (yesterday) – here’s to many, many more!

Weekend Highlights-

Friday began with big smiles and ended with bigger smiles, a family bike ride and park session.  Now that Everett is much more mobile he loves to climb and explore.  He climbed all the way to the top of the playground equipment to the tall slide (and of course wanted to go down headfirst).  I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time there this summer!

Saturday morning started with cinnamon apple pancakes and cottage cheese cups (topped with almonds, dried cherries and strawberry jelly) on the side for added protein.

Everett feasted on pears, pineapples, oranges, eggs, pancakes and banana.

After breakfast, E got his first oil change lesson.  We discussed the idea of weekend chores and are hoping that he’ll be ready to tackle the next oil change in about 3,000 miles.

We also had a hilly 7 miler on tap along with a quick shopping trip for new socks (oh how exciting our weekends have become!).

Saturday ended with a little bit of cat and mouse play.  Everett loves to go “sneak up” on his daddy, and then as soon as Mike lifts his head, E turns and runs for protection.  So fun.

Sunday was also a pretty “normal” day with a grocery trip and lots of playtime.  Everett also tried out his new-to-him shark Crocs for the first time.  They previously belonged to his buddy Palmer and looked SO CUTE on his little feet.  All boy, all day.

Sunday afternoon was my favorite part of the weekend.  We got to hang out with baby Carson!  He’s one week old today and sweet as can be.

It was so awesome to not only welcome this little guy into our circle of friends, but to have all of the kiddos running around was kind of surreal.  I still can’t believe we are all parents and that we are lucky enough to get to raise these little ones to the best of our ability.  We are all so truly blessed and I can’t wait to see them grow up together.

This week we are back to the grind with a few more training runs (our race is in 2 weeks), after school meetings, girls night dinner, DIY projects and Kennedy’s first birthday party this weekend (that is E’s girlfriend for those of you who aren’t regulars on the blog)!  Here’s to a great week of working, eating and growing-
