We had a fun, hard-working, yet relaxing weekend at my mom's house on the St. John's River. Her river cottage is located on a little slice of land heaven in East Palatka where the views never seem to disappoint.

Menu Tuesday
We had a blast with berries, buddies and beautiful weather. Here are a few snapshots of our time at Southern Hill Farms (more detail about the farm coming in an Orlando Moms Blog post soon!). Now to get busy making some new recipes with the 5 lbs. of berries we took home. Eeeek!
Gorgeous.

Pink and/or Blue?
Most of you know that we are expecting blue, but our friends Jill and Ryan (due 4 weeks after us) were hardcore and didn’t find out. I don’t know how they did it because it’s driving me crazy!!!
This past weekend we celebrated the pink or blue couple with a pink and blue baby shower. It was only the second co-ed baby shower I had ever been to, but I must tell you that it was the best. The shower was simply a party and was epic.
It was held at their friends Stacy and Scott’s house which was beautiful in itself, but the majority of the time was spent in their A-M-A-Z-I-N-G back yard. It was like something out of a movie and everywhere you looked there were little alcoves of whimsy.
The pool/grotto area looked so inviting-although I’m really surprised nobody ended up in it along with the arbor, outdoor chandelier, globe lights, fire pit(s)-yes there were two, and couch. I didn’t even get a picture of the outdoor shower, but trust me, it was just as amazing.
We played two games that were hilarious:
#1: Girls had to put adult diapers on the guys and then the guys had to chug a beer out of a baby bottle – so funny.
#2: Diaper wrapping – we were put into teams of 4 and given two rolls of toilet paper and 2 minutes and were asked to create the best diaper.
After that the fire (and the boys) had all the fun.
Christmas tree burning and fire jumping. Classic.
My friend Lynn even decided to climb a tree!
Congrats to Ryan and Jill – we can’t wait to meet the little he or she! For the record…my pick is pink!

On Wisconsin–Pt. 2
I must admit that I didn’t know much about Wisconsin until I met Mike. I was one of those that would always think, “What is there to do in Wisconsin?”
Well, the answer is tons! If you couldn’t tell by my previous posts, I love going to visit (not quite sure if I could live up there yet). Madison and the surrounding areas have such and active and fun vibe and the scenery is beautiful in the winter and the weather is glorious in the summer.
Besides all of our Christmas commitments, seeing old friends, attending our baby shower we still had plenty of time for some fun – here is a recap of our most recent activity list.
Sledding (snow tubing) – anywhere there’s a hill!
Boys will be boys!
Mike and his brother love making jumps and then concocting the most ridiculous ways to launch themselves into the air. Since I couldn't’ partake this year in the jumping, I was the resident photographer.
I did get one run in, but don’t worry, no jumps – it was a pretty smooth ride down the “bunny hill”.
Crash and burn.
National Mustard Museum – Middleton, WI
Home to the World’s Largest Collection
of Mustards and Mustard Memorabilia
What is it you ask? Well according to their website:
A mustard museum? ABSOLUTELY! According to Barry Levenson, founder & curator of the National Mustard Museum, you can blame it all on the Boston Red Sox. In the wee hours of October 28, 1986, after his favorite baseball team had just lost the World Series, Barry was wandering an all-night supermarket looking for the meaning of life. As he passed the mustards, he heard a voice: If you collect us, they will come.
He did and they have. In 1992, Barry left his job as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wisconsin to open this most improbable museum, now one of Wisconsin’s most popular attractions. The Mustard Museum has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the popular game show To Tell the Truth, as well as countless features on other national television and radio shows, and in major newspapers everywhere.
They also offer a huge selection of mustards from all over the world... and don't miss our "Gourmet Goodies" section to help fill your pantry. Free tasting samples are also given on any of the hundreds of mustards and sauces sold.
Cedar Grove Cheese – Plain, WI
Since we did a tour of many local breweries on our last trip to Wisconsin I figured it would be cool to check out a cheese factory on this trip since I couldn’t partake in the beer tasting this time!
There are tons of cheese factories to choose from all around, but we chose the Cedar Grove Cheese Factory in Plain, WI.
This factory was a bit on the small side, but their cheese packed a big punch and was delicious.
The Butterkasse was my favorite…kind of like a Havarti – nice and creamy!
Milwaukee Admirals – Milwaukee, WI
The Milwaukee Admirals are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They play at the BMO Harris Bradley Center (home also to the Milwaukee Bucks).
Milwaukee is a quick drive (a little over an hour) from Madison and is definitely worth a trip. There are lots of unique eateries to choose from and it was decorated beautifully for the holidays.
Cowbell night!
Admirals win!
HMO Bradley Center – Downtown Milwaukee
Build a Snowman – anywhere there is snow!
My brother-in-law made this awesome snowman in his front yard (by himself I might add) which towered close to 10 feet once the top hat was added. Black spray paint completed the look and everybody that drove by loved it! Cars were stopping to take pictures and give shout-outs all week long.
Other funsies worth checking out:
--We didn’t get to do either of the following activities this past trip, but have done both before and loved it!
- Skiing @ Tyrol Basin – Mount Horeb, WI
- Shopping on State Street – Madison, WI
